State of the art neurosurgery in the Netherlands
The St Elisabeth Hospital is the largest center for neurosurgery in the Netherlands and is situated in Tilburg. All the techniques which are evidence based are in use, including the Gamma Knife (new generation Perfexion), Neuromeg etc etc. The team consists of more than 150 professionals, including 12 neurosurgeons, all specialised in one or more fields. There is strong cooperation with the neurologists, neuro-radiologists, radiologists.
The St Elisabeth Hospital exists almost 200 years and is a 700 bed hospital with a splendid reputation. There are almost 3500 workers. Besides treating patients, education and reserach are important tasks.
Number of patients
Every year 21.000 patients are treated.

Hospital and departments involved are certified by NIAZ (Dutch Institute for Quality and Safety Insurance and Certification). Besides this, the departments are certified by the MSRC (Dutch Council for Education and Research) and own various quality certificates given by the KNMG (Dutch Association of Medical Professionals). In the rankings this department is proudly holding #1 position for a number of years.
Patient questionaires
Questioning all the patients being treated, both quantitative and qualitative, is a routine procedure. The outcome is never below an 8 (out of 10) and in average close to 9.
